I liked book two less than book one. In book two they've admitted their love for each other and are planning a wedding. Sounds great, right? The amount of over the top opulence that went until this wedding was ridiculous. I realize he's a billionaire, but her effort to have everything perfect, regardless of cost, was annoying. I get it, she didn't have the perfect wedding the first time, but if you love the guy, spending a hundred million on a wedding isn't what's important. Her daughters are young and sound exactly their age, but that includes them sounding greedy. I have been in Claire's exact position of the best friend and husband. Mine, too, are now married to each other. I don't see myself caring one whit if she got a brain tumor either, but I can't see spewing the hatred at her or at the ex husband. It would have been nice had Claire taken the approach of saying thank you. Thank you for leaving me so that I could find perfection in Jonathan. I didn't like the stalking and the demands she be home on time or monitoring her conversations or mail. It wasn't to keep her safe. It was to assert dominance and control. Despite the flaws I still loved the positives. The redemption Claire feels in having found love again. The Jonathan has a family he loves dearly. Their interactions were the best parts of the book.

This story was EXACTLY what I wanted to read! I couldn't put it down! I finally did and them woke up reading right away and NOW I'm finally done and I'm like dang! It's done but oh do I want MORE! I just wrote a review for mid life love Last Night!!!! Lol and I said I wanted to know about Ryan, Amanda and his mom more.. And kind of what happens with that mess because closure was needed all the way around.. Boy did Whitney Gracia Williams give it! It's like she read my review or better yet read my mind... You get answers, you get angry, frustrated, sad, mad, happy, you feel like you/well Claire is avenged and then you breathe a collective sigh of relief all over!!! johnathan is awesome and such a Stubborn stubborn man! As is Claire- Stubborn, but, they both finally get it together on the same page, same chapter, same book, same day! I loved this story and the addition of Hayley and Corey story is definitely going to be fun because I KNOW a healthy dose of Claire and Johnathan will be in it so they won't be completely gone..? Either way, great writing, great sex scenes, oh the drama with adding Ryan and Amanda to the mix.. And that bachelorette party..?! Gooooodddd Lordddddd... Great book. But you have to read the first one to really appreciate this one.. Well worth it guys! I read these two books in 2 days!!!

Oh my gosh y'all. (In my best country girl from Mississippi voice ). I just loved these two books!! And at the end surprise surprise Hayley gets her on book !!!

At one point I really wanted to slap a hoe but hey ! It's not a good book if you don't get mad right !?!?

I really enjoy Whitney G book !! I haven't met one yet I didn't just love !! I highly recommend her if you haven't read anything from her yet !
This is the second part of Mid Life Love, where we see Jonathan and Claire preparing for their wedding. There are some flash backs for both Jonathan and Claire that provide us with some insights about each of them by looking at some of the things Jonathan went thru as a child and some of Claire's experiences after her first husband betrayed her. Her ex husband comes back on the scene, his wife Amanda, Claire's former best friend who he had an affair with while married to Claire is very sick and wants Claire's forgiveness. I think this book was entertaining but I still wasn't a big Claire fan at the end of it. To me, Claire's extreme rage over her husband's infidelity 6 years later was puzzling since she was now supposedly head over heels in love with J, as I said in my review of the 1st book, she needed to be in therapy to help her move on. Her daughters came across as spoiled brats, not sure why either J or C tolerated their self centered, ungrateful behavior. J's possessiveness of C was sometimes a little scary as well. I found myself skipping ahead because I just wanted to see what kind of wedding they would have, and the extravagance of the wedding and the difficulty C had about making up her mind about what she wanted for the 'perfect' wedding seemed out of character for a woman who in the 1st book didn't want J to think she was after him for his money and who wanted to sign a pre-nip in book 2. So, again the book was entertaining, had a great premise but didn't quite live up to its potential.
This sequel was excellent! I loved how Jonathan wooed Claire in book 1, and I was super happy to have book 2 at my fingertips so I stay in their that much world longer.

His mother, gah! I wanted to shake her more than a few times. Her interference in his relationship with Claire bugged me intensely. She really knew how to get under Claire’s skin and chip away at her confidence that marrying a man so much younger than her would work out. In the end, no one could keep these two lovers from working things out, becoming each other’s rock and finally tying the knot.

This duology was one of top favorite reads in 2017!
4-4.5 stars. Ever since the first book, I had been wondering if there would come a time when Claire would have to face her past, namely her ex-husband and former best friend, simply for the sake of closure. Their actions had tainted so much for her that Jonathan had such high walls to climb to get through to her. I loved seeing Claire and Jonathan happy together, preparing for their future together. But I was also on edge regarding Claire's ex and former friend. All I can say is that this didn't turn into one of those storylines where it's important to forgive, be the better person, and let bygones be bygones. The necessary words were said and I think I burst out laughing in certain parts during the confrontations because, well, what goes around comes around in the karmic sense and some wounds are too deep to overcome. There was drama between Claire and Jonathan, too, but if anything, that solidified the strength of their connection and I'm glad they got their HEA.
